Fullscreen Arcade was initiated by Phil Ranta, Brian Foster and Jon Brence in 2012 as Fullscreen’s Gaming subnetwork and brand.

The initial name and logo were developed by George Stromopolos and Jon Brence to embody the space where gaming communities first gathered. Arcade enabled Fullscreen to expand into representing gaming-focused YouTube creators.

In 2013, Fullscreen Arcade experimented with original VOD content with “5 Level Fridays” which included hosts Gootecks and Geektroncodex.

Jon Brence led the team’s live broadcasting initiatives with Fullscreen Arcade Live on a weekly basis and hosted a yearly Extra Life marathon featuring Fullscreen’s YouTube talent and peers. The initiative fell dormant after about two years due to a shift in company plans.

In 2016, Jon Brence and Howard Pinsky re-launched the Arcade brand under Fullscreen with a fresh coat of paint (new logo, website) and team of creators for content (Melonie Mac, Clintus, TradeChat & AwesomeJoey). During the time, they also launched a podcast which ran for 11 episodes.

The initiative lasted for two years until Jon and Howard left the Fullscreen team.
