THE ROUTES OF WILDFLOWERS is the story of four strangers who become entangled on a day in Pittsburgh when bus drivers go on strike. It is an exploration of identity, lineage and limitations.

Four people from the outskirts of Pittsburgh find themselves on an accidental journey in February. During an unexpected transit strike, these four individuals must find their way downtown as they each are in a rush to achieve their desires. Boris, a street vendor, wants to deliver one of his most prized plants to a young Russian girl who is leaving the country. Otto, a recovering alcoholic, wants to find someone to settle down with, despite his age and identity struggles. Janet, mother and beauty school dropout, drags her daughter Bree, an introverted emo musician, to a talent show hosted by a local celebrity. A story of hope and the pursuit to fill personal gaps tie all these people together on a journey through an urban surrounding.
